History of our breedings kennels

Our first breeding female ALASKA ESKYMO was an Alaskan malamute.

That is why our kennels bear the name ALMAJU – that is ALaskan, MAlamute, JUzu.

We were very lucky with our Alaska, as at that time we had no knowledge of the breed – but she was a prize dog. We took her to an exhibition in 1988, where we encountered the Akita-Inu breed for the first time, and it was love at first sight. A year later we brought Bijin Kura of Nobara Ken from Ms. Stahl in Germany. Thus we became one of the first breeders of this breed in the Czech lands.

At that time, Akita came in all types of coat colours and the breed standard was different from today’s. the great change came in early 1990s, when Akita was strictly divided into Japanese AKITA INU and so-called American Akita or the GREAT JAPANESE DOG (GJD).
